Mike Seehagel is a commercial and lifestyle photographer based in Canada and the United States.
After receiving formal training in design, Mike began his career in advertising. As a motion designer, 2D and 3D animator, he worked closely on the concept and development of several television, digital, film and print campaigns. For Mike, shooting on set started out as a distraction from animation and kept him from spending too much time at his desk. It was then that photography began to take on a larger role, and he set out to shoot with purpose. Photography influencing design, and design influencing photography.
A few years ago, Mike transitioned from his role at a motion design studio to find his own way as a photographer. Now he creates images and commercial campaigns for a wide range of clients, including: American Express, Google, The Lincoln Motor Company and Mercedes-Benz. He works to travel, and sometimes finds himself lucky enough to travel for work.
Mike has gained widespread recognition for his work through his popular social channels, and was named a top photographer to watch by Forbes Magazine. He is also co-founder and operator of Great North Collective, a Canadian-based photography community that spans worldwide, promoting artists and inspiring others who enjoy photography, to travel. These projects combined bring Mike nearly over one million viewers of his work and travels.
